Arrived Portland from Phoenix Monday afternoon to a beautiful clear day. Such a nice day I let Alamo Car rental talk me into a Mustang convertible.

Arrived Portland International Airport, rented car and drove 3 hours to Redmond Oregon site of the 3 day pre-event cave rescue training.  Actual 3 day conference June 4 – 6 was held at historic Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood which was the site of the first MRA conference in 1959.  Enjoyed perfect weather from arrival on Monday afternoon and had dinner with Adam a friend and business associate that evening.  Left early Tuesday morning for my 3 hour drive to Redmond, Oregon site of the Cave Rescue Training.   As the drive took me past Mt. Hood, I stopped at Timberline Lodge to take advantage of the clear weather.  Cave Training, named small party assist covered Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and Thursday morning.  Learned great skill sets on rope rescues.  Thursday afternoon drove to the actual event on Mt. Hood.  Friday, first day of the event snowed all day! Saturday was the Rescue Rendezvous, an all day team skill set training on various Search and Rescue techniques.  Saturday evening, had a “once in a lifetime” opportunity to rappel inside the Timberline Lodge lobby!  Sunday morning was the MRA business meeting.  Flew home Sunday evening.
